How to crop a PDF online
- Choose Attach PDF and select a Preset, or Custom to adjust Left, Right, Top and Bottom.
- Choose Pages, using Custom pages when the crop should affect only a range.
- Choose Crop PDF and inspect the downloaded PDF for clipped text, tables and footers.
Crop versus redact
PDF cropping changes what a viewer displays, but it may not erase underlying objects outside the crop box. Never use cropping to hide confidential information. Use secure Redact PDF for sensitive content.
Documents with mixed page sizes
A single crop setting can affect portrait, landscape and differently sized pages in different ways. Review every page type before applying the crop to the full file.
Trim whitespace without losing useful details
Start with a light trim when scanned pages have broad empty borders. Increase the crop gradually and check page numbers, stamps and handwritten notes near the edges. A uniform border on the first page does not mean every page has the same safe margin. For mixed documents, apply different crops to separate page ranges rather than assuming one setting is suitable everywhere.
The controls use percentages of each page, not a fixed physical cut measured in millimetres. A setting can therefore remove a different physical amount from a large page than from a smaller one. Cropping changes the visible PDF boundary and is not image sharpening, deskewing or secure removal. Store the original when you might need to recover an edge detail or print the complete sheet later.
